This is because 60 FPS offers a much smoother gameplay compared to 30 FPS, which is still very much playable, but not Fortnite will now be able to run at 120 frames per second on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. so I'm pretty sure they didn't expect people with some 144 and 240 Hz monitor using it. Show FPS Now the FPS of the current gameplay will be displayed on the left corner of the screen at the bottom of the interface.
